Where is Auro Psychology located?

We are based at 175 Young Street, Parkside. Young street is off Unley Road in Parkside. The site also hosts other psychology practices. As it is a shared psychology practice, you might see the names of other psychology practices at the venue. You can enter from the door at the back and can remain in the waiting room. 

Client parking

There is plenty of free 4 hour parking on street parks available on Young Street. Please be mindful that the parking at rear of the building is for staff and disability access only.

Public transport

Bus

Several bus routes travel around Unley Road (eg bus numbers 90, 190B, 195, 196, and 197). Bus stop 2 on Unley Road is conveniently located near Young Street.

Tram

Tram stop 1 is approximately 15 min walk from King William Road to 175 Young Street

Do I need a referral from my GP for my initial appointment?

Yes, a referral from your General Practitioner (GP) is required for your initial appointment. This ensures that your care is coordinated and tailored to your specific needs and a copy of the assessment and progress are sent to the GP. A Mental Health Care Plan will make you eligible for Medicare rebates of $141.85 per consult for a total of 10 consultations in a calendar year. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that their Mental Health Care Plan is up to date and renewed as required.

Private clients can chose to access services with out a Mental Health Care Plan and seek rebates from their private health care fund. It is advisable to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage options.

Operating Hours

Auro Psychology is currently open only on Thursdays from 9 am to 5 pm.

What is the cost of the appointment?
The fee is $235 for a 50-minute consult.

Are there any rebates available for the appointment?
Eligible clients with a valid Mental Health Care Plan can receive a rebate of $141.85 per session (as of December 2024), which can help offset the cost of our services.

Is there a Cancellation Policy?

Yes. If you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment, a 48 hours notice is required to allow the session to be offered to others seeking a session. If you are unable to provide this notice, a cancellation fee of $100 will be incurred and will be payable before your next booking. Medicare does not provide rebates for unattended appointments.

Is this service suitable for emergencies or crises?
No, our services are not designed for emergencies or crises. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services by dialling 000 or reach out to Lifeline at 13 11 14 for immediate support.

Can I claim the session fee from my private health insurance?
Some clients may be able to claim part of the appointment fee from their private health insurance if eligible. It is advisable to check with your insurance provider to understand your coverage options.

How can I schedule an appointment?
You will receive a phone call after the referral is received to schedule the initial appointment.

Follow up appointments are usually booked at the end of your  appointments or by calling the number and leaving a detailed message.

How do I send my referral?
Please send your referral to contact@auropsychology.com, and you can usually expect a response within a week. Your GP clinic can also email the referral directly to our email address contact@auropsychology.com.

Do you provide medicolegal or third party reports?

No, we focus mainly on clinical care and support. We are unable to support you with medicolegal or third party reports.
